The Jasper–Pickens Committee for Accountable Government (Jasper–Pickens AGC) was formed by local citizens, business owners, community advocates, and community investors concerned about Jasper’s water system and the effect of its challenges on our community.
As discussions have expanded to the future of water and other public services, including possible coordination or consolidation between the City of Jasper and Pickens County, our purpose has grown. We believe residents deserve clear information about the problems, the proposed solutions, their costs, and who will be responsible for the results.
We also believe proposals that could affect our community’s future deserve careful consideration. Any opportunity to bring jobs or investment should make sense for local residents, respect the character of Jasper and Pickens County, and be supported by the services and resources needed to sustain it.
We work to bring neighbors together, ask informed questions, examine public decisions, and encourage meaningful participation from both city and county residents. Our goal is accountable government and dependable services for everyone who lives, works, or invests in Jasper and Pickens County.
